About Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at connecting institutions of higher education with rural communities to address developmental challenges. The primary goal of UBA is to empower rural areas by improving their economic and social well-being through the application of knowledge and technology from academic institutions. UBA was officially launched in 2014 by the Ministry of Education (then Ministry of Human Resource Development). Its roots lie in the vision of building a self-reliant rural India through the integration of education, research, and societal needs.

To Involve the reputed higher educational institutions of the country in the process of indigenous development of self sufficient and sustainable village clusters

Mission

Develop necessary Mechanism for UBA Select Rural Clusters Harnessing Multifarious Govt. Schemes and utilizing local resources. Customizing existing technologies Use of Knowledge as per local needs To Improves Livelihood of rural masses

Objectives

To engage faculty and Student in Understanding Rural Realities To Identify & Select Existing Innovative Technologies To Enable Customization of Technologies To Device Implementation method for Innovative Solutions as per local needs. To Leverage the knowledge base of the Institutions to device processes for effective implementation of various government programs.

Goals

To build an understanding of the development agenda within institutes of Higher Education and an institutional capacity and training relevant to national needs, especially those of rural India. To re-emphasize the need for field work, stake-holder interactions and design for societal objectives as the basis of higher education. To stress on rigorous reporting and useful outputs as central to developing new professions.
