The department is involved in teaching subjects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to under graduate level. It has started in 1983. In this department applied physics and applied chemistry practical are conducted to make students more perfect in basic sciences, which helps them in further studies. Besides teaching the subject likes Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Mathematics-I, Engineering Mathematics-II to first year BE and Engineering Mathematics-III, Engineering Mathematics-IV, Numerical Methods, Statistical Methods, Operation Research, Communication Skill, Principles of Management, Social Science and Economics to second and third year BE and Power System Optimization to ME (EPS); the department is concerned with the overall development of the newly admitted students in BE first year. About 370 students of BE first year are associated with the department. Applied Physics Lab. and Applied Chemistry Lab. are recognized as Research Laboratory by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati.

Industry Institute Intraction

The industry institute interaction cell strives to promote and nurture close interaction with the industrial section and to play more positive role in its growth. The cell's activities are aimed at more effectively utilizing the man power and other resources available at the institute. With the assistance of participating industries, for satisfying the techno industrial needs of the industries in this region, in particular and improving the quality of professional training of SSGMCE students in general.

The cell has introduces the industries associate ship scheme wherein the member industries derive benefits such as library facility, concession in testing and consultancy fee, preferential access to the guest lectures, student project in industries, etc. This cell organizes skill cum technology up gradation programs on various engineering / technical / management topics exclusively for small scale industries. Industrial exhibitions in PARISHKRUTI programs are also organized by the college and the response was extremely encouraging.
