Project - Solid Wastage Management

People have been living in residential areas. We have in campus 3-girls hostel, 4-boys hostel, 4-staff quarters, and cottages for class-4 employees also we have on campus dispensary. So garbage or solid waste has been an issue.
To tackle this we follow the process of collecting, treating and disposing of the solid wastes. It also offers solutions for recycling items that do not belong to garbage or trash.
We have segregation and measurement mechanism for different types of solid waste generated on campus. The biodegradable waste includes rotten food, vegetable peel and mostly wet kitchen waste. The recyclable waste includes plastic and the hazardous wastes include bulbs, batteries, E-waste includes not repairable computers and electronics and electrical equipment and machines, toxic material at dispensary etc.

Biodegradable waste
The College has a Hostel facility and also a big landscaped garden in the campus. Due to this a good amount of Biodegradable waste is generated. The College has installed a Bio composting unit in our parent organization and the compost is used as fertilizer feedstock for the own garden. Kitchen waste and leftover food are biodegraded and convert into compost using Biodegradable. The Plant is installed at Anand Sagar in our parent organization.
Sanitary Napkin Incinerator
A sanitary napkin incinerator machine is used to dispose of used sanitary napkins safely. We have 3 girls hostel at each hostel Sanitary Napkin Incinerator is installed and used.
