Introduction To ISTE


The session, led by Dr. R.S. Dhekekar, the Secretary of Indian Society for Technical Education [ISTE], commenced with an informative overview of the organization, urging students to join the ISTE Student Chapter. ISTE stands as a premier National Professional Non-profit Society for technical education, boasting an impressive membership of 1,28,500 technical teachers, 5,35,000 student members, and over 2,740 institutions. He laid out the essential criteria for becoming a member, stressing the significance of following these norms. He emphasized the primary objectives of the committee, which include facilitating faculty training at other institutions and actively contributing to the production and development of engineers. Furthermore, he urged students to focus on personal skill development.

Continuing the session, Prof. Harshwardhan Patil, a member of the ISTE chapter, warmly welcomed the new students and explained the benefits of committee membership. He detailed various enrolment methods available to students, highlighting the concessions they would receive upon joining the student chapter. He elaborated on the exciting activities planned for the year, encompassing 24 diverse events such as Student Membership drives, a Short Course on Introduction to GDNT, and a National-level Poster competition, among others. A comprehensive overview of these activities was provided to the attendees, setting the stage for an engaging and enriching year ahead
